Fountains...

Mommy has been trying all summer to take me to the fountains in the Bicentennial mall state park and they have been closed for renovations. Today we tried the recommendation of a friend to go to the courthouse downtown where they have similar fountains. Not as many but just as fun! Here are some pictures of me beating the heat with mommy and my buddy Miss Melissa.

Summertime = Flip Flops!

If anyone has spent any time with me in the summer you know that the only type of shoe I wear from mid April thru mid October is a flip flop. Well, Amelia has quickly picked up on this fact and LOVES to wear mommy's flip flops. So much so, that we will be outside and she will work at pulling my shoes right off of my feet until she can wear my shoes (and I am left barefoot). So, we were recently at the mall and I saw a little pair of pink flip flops with glitter and flowers just her size. Well, I tried them on her to make sure she could walk in them without tripping and it is a good thing they fit! Her whole demeanor changed. She got a huge smile on her face and kept saying "shoes, shoes" and pointing to her feet. She started screaming when I had to take one off to let the salesperson ring them up. Since this day (about a week ago) she has worn them to nap, bedtime and even threw a fit on Sunday when I put her nice sandals on for church. She is not even 2, but she knows what she likes...and she LOVES her flip-flops! Here's hoping the obsession wears off before the warm weather does :) Happy summer to you!

Happy 4th of July!

I love fireworks! (Here is a picture of me with my Aunt Angie taking in the show). I am a wild and crazy gal and I laugh in the face of loud noises and bright lights :) From the first firwork that I saw I was clapping and saying "Yay!" until the end. When there was a break I quickly wanted to know "where'd they go?" and was looking around for more. Mommy even said that when we pulled into the driveway at home at 10:30pm (after I had fallen asleep in the car) I groggily started clapping and saying "Yay!" when I heard some fireworks on my street. This only happens once a year? Man, am I bummed :)
