Merry Christmas!

Well, many of you are calling and wondering if there is a new baby in our home...not yet! Here she is folks...safe and sound and stretching me out! My body seems to know exactly how to cook a baby for 40 weeks. Not a minute sooner. So, we are still awaiting baby girl #2. Here are some pictures of her with mommy and daddy as well as Amelia with her cousin Lilia. Aren't they both beautiful? We had a fabulous Christmas with the Lewis family and Amelia is sure to keep busy for the next few months exploring how all of her new toys work. Grandma bought her a battery operated train set which is surely the favorite toy this year. She will play with it for hours. She also got some dress up jewelry (which has only come off to sleep-you can see her earrings below) and some blocks and other fun toys. We will keep you posted about baby sister!

You look exactly how I did. Carried really low and everyone said, "It's a boy in there!" And I have two girls....who knew? I had my first two days late but Virginia was induced a week early. Anyway, Happy Birthday, I sat here and cried at Angies blog. It made me think of my bff who now lives in Texas. It also made me think how it happened to reconnect us! Can't wait to hear some news from you!!

Audra, Happy birthday month to you! I love the comment about Zephaniah "The Lord rejoices over you with singing!" He is singing "Happy Birthday" to you and your baby girl soon to appear and for Angie's re-birth day Jan. 17! Amelia can help make a birthday cake for the new baby.

Praising God for the strength He has given to the Body of His Son as you "girls" have maintained unity in the bond of peace. Because of your strong friendship, each of you are built up and many are blessed.

It's so precious to see the next generation of girls in Halloween costumes. Soon you will have a new little pumpkin to join all your LOVELY little ladies. Girl power!

You are a wonderful mother! I love the picture of Amelia stirring eggs. Your list of the chores she helps with is such a good reminder of what little ones can do and they LOVE IT! I learned in university child development classes and through years of parenting and grandparenting that "Work is the highest form of play" for a young child. It DOES take patience and creativity to encourage them but they are so proud to "do it myself!"

With 3 kids in 3 years, I found that by redirecting and encouraging appropriate independence that I NEVER had a "terrible" two year old! A lot of power struggles can be side-stepped like you did when you let beautiful Amelia put herself down for rest time with books and pacis. (You can "make" them have quiet time but you can't "make" them sleep.)

I also love what appears to be Amelia's darling vinyl bib in her "Winko Winko Dar" video. (My grandson's second verse used to be "Ha wa wa doo are. Buppa buppa whir so high.") Many parents don't use bibs or aprons but I think it's so helpful to minimize stained clothing. My granddaughter LOVES her special chef's apron!

Hope I'm not keeping you from your busy day preparing for your newborn. It's so lovely to see how much you treasure the kids.

Love in Christ, Michal (no blog but immichal@yahoo.com FYI)
